The origin of the Firm dates back to 1952 when Founder, Arthur G. Kiesling, opened his CPA office on the Capital Square in Madison, Wisconsin. He brought to the practice more than twenty years of experience in public utility accounting, financing and regulatory matters, including controllership responsibilities for the Illinois and Wisconsin properties of Commonwealth Telephone, now part of Verizon Communications, Inc.
Art Kiesling's mid-life decision to start his own public accounting practice rather than to pursue a promising career with an aggressive national corporation seems to epitomize a philosophy that still exists at the Firm. We prefer to do business at the personal level, and value highly the close relationships which develop from being involved with a client over a period of years.
Our firm was organized to provide financial, tax and consulting services to telecommunications and utility companies throughout the United States. From our beginning, we've been a leader in providing solutions to our clients. We are currently providing a variety of services to over 200 communication and utility companies; including telecommunications, cable television, electric and gas utilities, and wireless services.
Through our participation in technical conferences with state regulators, state and national industry associations, our membership in the Telergee Alliance, BDO Seidman Alliance, and our assistance to clients in dealing with complex financial, marketing, regulatory and business matters, we believe our experience positions us to uniquely respond to your needs.

"Electricity, telephone, water and waste disposal services have been taken for granted in American cities since at least the 1920's. But if you lived in a rural area only 60 years ago, chances are you went without these necessities of modern life and high standard of living they make possible.
Modern utilities came to rural America through some of the most successful government initiatives in American history, carried out through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) working with rural cooperatives, nonprofit associations, public bodies, and for-profit utilities. Today, USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) carries on this tradition helping rural utilities expand and keep their technology up to date, helping establish new and vital services such as distance learning and telemedicine.
The public-private partnership which is forged between RUS and these industries results in billions of dollars in rural infrastructure development and creates thousands of jobs for the American economy."

MasTec is a leading end-to-end voice, video, data and energy infrastructure
solution provider. We are thousands of highly trained men and women,
organized to serve multi-national communication, broadband, satellite,
energy companies, and government entities. We know how to achieve
valuable operating synergies because our specialized divisions design
the systems, lay the fiber, install the networks and equipment,
connect the conductors, build the substations, bury the pipelines,
and install the in-home equipment. Then we maintain and monitor
it all.
As a specialty infrastructure contractor, MasTec is a major beneficiary
of communication industry convergence that has been accelerating
in recent years. Customers that traditionally provided one service
such as voice, video or data, are now providing a bundle of communications
products. Cable companies are now providing telephony voice services
and high-speed internet in addition to their traditional video programming.
Similarly, phone companies are positioning to provide upgraded data
and video programming by massive spending initiatives, known as
fiber to the premises, or FTTP, that will give them the required
bandwidth capacity to support these new services. This competition
provides accelerated growth in divisions all across the Company.
Additionally, MasTec is the largest nationwide installer for satellite
TV. This area, which has shown dramatic growth in recent years,
has been the fastest growing part of MasTec's portfolio. Also, MasTec's
Energy focus should also benefit from long-term electrical grid
updates which will be made in the future. Finally, MasTec's Intelligent
Traffic and Government activities may accelerate with increased
highway and Homeland Security spending initiatives.

Communications has helped to make the world seem smaller. And as the world of communications becomes smaller through mergers and acquisitions, it has become more important than ever before to know a company you can depend on to provide service when and where you need it. Great Lakes Comnet is a broadband network and switching infrastructure company that enables modern and efficient deployment of a variety of voice, video and data services.
GLC was organized as a for-profit Michigan based corporation in 1996. Its shareholders are independent telephone companies operating throughout Michigan, some of which have more than a century of telecommunications experience. The company became operational in 2001 and has expanded every year since. Future plans include the deployment of a significant amount of additional fiber miles of network throughout Michigan.
GLC has the only independently owned and operated Tandem Switch in Michigan. We utilize traditional and next generation Class 4 and Class 5 switching technologies that are connected to a matched pair of Broadband STPs. Our state-of-the-art Tandem Switch is connected to more than 150 carriers. Our goal is to provide partner companies with services and products that result in:
Increased revenues
Reduced operating expense
Placement into new strategic markets
